We believe that supporting practitioners in developing their awareness of global development issues and the role of global education should start at the early stages of their training to become a teacher or a youth worker.

Education in the 21^st century needs to provide a stimulating and participatory learning environment where children and young people can increase their understanding of the world around them.

One strategic way of embedding a global education approach into teaching and youth work practice is to share these ideas with students in initial teacher education, PGCE and youth work programmes.
